Salish Kootenai College has the signed and returned the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used the applicable amount of funds designated under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
Salish Kootenai College was awarded $2,365,565 from the U.S. Department of Education under these programs. This funding is being used to provide Emergency Aid Grants for COVID-related needs to SKC students.
SKC gave out $2,365,565 to 685 different students as of 6/30/23.
Salish Kootenai College established an application system for students requesting Emergency Financial Aid Grants. Students complete applications via a web application. The applications are reviewed by an anonymous multi-departmental committee. Once a student's application has been accepted and their status verified, they are notified via email that they have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant and how to get access to the money.
Students were notified of the applications process via our Emergency Notification System which sends emails and texts to all students. In addition, on our student COVID-19 website there is information on how to apply.
