General Summary:

Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all staff, faculty and students. This position will work under a Team System of cleaning all buildings on SKC campus. Position will follow policy and procedures.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar and follow SKC policies and procedures

General Summary:

The instructor will develop and teach high school and early college/dual enrollment courses within the school structure.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a college and career readiness curriculum and teach two semester-long courses for high school students grades 9-12. The instructor will offer culturally relevant large group and individualized career and college exploration and preparation activities to include a portfolio-building component. Class sessions will include group work and individualized work plans to assist students with all aspects of college and/or career planning including exploration, selection, and application for work-based learning positions, internships, scholarships, college, apprenticeships, and other opportunities. The instructor will teach the course five days per week during the regular school schedule.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in education or related academic field and secondary school certification. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the high school or college level. Excellent writing, communication, computer, organizational, and time-management skills required. Must successfully complete a background check (fingerprinting) due to working with minors and a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualification:

Experience teaching Native American students.

General Summary:

Campus Security routinely does checks of campus buildings and property. This includes but is not limited to buildings-windows, doors and building alarm systems along with routine checks for fire and safety. These checks take place at alternating times. While on patrol, security will approach and identify any/all individuals and/or vehicles within campus boundaries. Security patrol any new construction areas and buildings to insure the unauthorized entry of children and or adults. Security Officer will contact Tribal Police, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Services and Fire Departments for assistance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must as Security has to communicate with patrons of SKC, police and write reports on incidents. SKC Security is a 24/7/365 program and a part-time position. The officer must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.

Major Duties of Security Officers:

  • Observe and Reporting: Notify supervisor of incidents.
  • Listen to scanner and respond and Assist any Emergency on Campus.
  • Maintain professionalism including appearance and personal hygiene. Punctuality. Kind and courteous demeanor.

  • Will remain on SKC Campus at all times during shift unless otherwise authorized.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must not have any felonies or misdemeanor convictions in the last five years.
  • Must not have any pending criminal misdemeanor or felony charges.
  • Position can be physically demanding and officers must be able to perform foot patrol in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to pass background check for criminal crimes.

General Summary:

The role of the faculty is to facilitate individual and group opportunities of learning that allow students to meet the educational outcomes of the BSN Nursing Program. To achieve these outcomes, faculty and students form a partnership in an atmosphere of care and mutual respect.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching 55%

  • Plan, prepare, and organize a variety of culturally relevant teaching/learning strategies and instructional material for clinical, lab, and/or simulation
  • Instruct students in clinical, lab, and/or simulation under the oversight of master’s prepared faculty.
  • Prepare and maintain student records related to course room and learning activities.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours and availability to assist students with learning difficulties.
  • Responsible for: completing the syllabus according to department and college guidelines, placement of all course documents on Brightspace, posting final grades to JICS, and posting all course documents to Google Drive/Docs
  • Participate in problem solving of student, course, exam, and department issues—and other issues as they arise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Nursing faculty will hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from both an accredited nursing program and college. If a BSN prepared nurse is currently enrolled in a master’s program, they will be considered as a qualified applicant.
  • Nursing education experience preferred.
  • Faculty shall hold an unencumbered, active license as a Registered Nurse in Montana or be eligible to apply for one via reciprocity from another state. Recent acute care experience is preferred.

General Summary:

The role of the simulation instructor is to facilitate individual and group opportunities of learning that allow students to meet the educational outcomes of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. To achieve these outcomes, instructors and students form a partnership in an atmosphere of care and mutual respect.

The role of the simulation instructor includes coordinating, managing, and teaching in the simulation labs. The individual in this position will assure the effective and efficient operation of the lab, assess and provide for meeting program and student needs, and oversee the operation of high and medium fidelity technology to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation equipment. The individual in this position is expected to be generally present and available throughout the year during the normal business hours of the college, and may occasionally have work obligations outside of the college’s normal business hours.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation lab policies, procedures, use, and operations

  • Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of simulation lab equipment

  • Develops, presents, evaluates and refines scenarios for simulation experiences, utilizing role playing, props and dialogue to create a realistic learning environment in conjunction with the diverse learning styles of students

  • Develops and implements clinical simulation to meet accreditation standards

  • Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process

  • Performs data analysis to evaluate learning and satisfaction with the provision of services

  • Continuously updates and refines simulation experiences based on identified needs and serves as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation in classroom/lab activities

  • Monitors and assures appropriate standards of lab cleanliness, provides for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement

  • Orients instructors as appropriate in simulation lab procedures, location, and use of materials, and operation of equipment

  • Responsible for business development of the simulation lab, establishes community partners, develops income generated projects, seeks grants and other funding sources in collaboration with the Director of Clinical, Lab, and Simulation

  • Oversees simulation lab information and technology support

  • Formulates budget recommendations

  • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment, complies with college health and safety policies, practices, and programs in keeping with occupational health & safety legislation and regulations

  • Models professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and related

  • Performs remediation with students as needed

  • Instructor will participate in nursing faculty meetings to identify program improvement needs relating to simulation

Greet and assist general public, students, staff and faculty. Answer switchboard. Prepare items for filing. Work as a team member in the basic operations of the Business office.

Responsible for all filling. Proof various Journal Entries, Monthly Adjustments, and Miscellaneous Charges. Assist with preparing outgoing mail. Verifying all AP checks for proper back up prior to filling. Disburse student refund checks and payroll checks. General Summary:

The Institutional Research Analyst works directly under the Director of Institutional

Effectiveness to coordinate quality data collection efforts across campus; ensure student record

integrity; and maintain compliance with federal, state, and college policies, as well as

accreditation standards. This work includes assisting with: timely responses to data requests;

preparation of required and requested reports; engagement with student success initiatives to

support data informed decision making; and providing data support and training to staff and

faculty across campus. The ideal candidate will be student centric, self-motivated, and

prepared to actively engage with both the campus and Tribal College and Universities (TCU)

communities and other outside agencies.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extract and analyze program data for the preparation of assessment, program evaluation reports, and institutional research projects.
  • Prepare and submit data to national data services (i.e., the Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) College Board) according to established reporting schedules.
  • Create and modify reports from multiple databases for the purpose of providing data for institutional research.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and training regarding institutional data collection, data integrity, and data correction.
  • Prepare data and reports according to approved data requests.
  • Assist with ad hoc institutional research projects, including data walks, presentations, retention system updates, and focus groups.

General Summary:

In accordance with the Salish Kootenai College Childcare Mission Statement and goals, the Childcare Center Cook collaborates with the director and lead teachers to meet the needs of the center, children, parents, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, purchasing supplies, preparing and serving two meals and one snack to as many as three groups of children per day in accordance with USDA/ Montana Child and Adult Food Care Program standards and meal patterns.
  • Reviewing the menus with the director and coordinating the food program with possible center activities.
  • Shopping weekly for food and supplies for meals.
  • Completing all paperwork reporting documentation for the Montana Child and Adult Food Care Program.
  • Providing assistance to teachers with cooking experiences they may wish to implement in the learning environment. These experiences may include actually demonstrating/presenting the planned lesson/activity.

  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen and eating areas. This will involve following the cleaning schedule posted in the kitchen.

General Summary:

Under general supervision, perform highly skilled and complex work, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services for the college community, with a focus on health conditions and behaviors that interfere with student success in young adult populations. Working with Center for Prevention and Wellness, and campus health services staff, administer student population-based health assessments; analyze, determine, and communicate priority needs; and ensure that data-driven programs are developed and implemented, based on relevant, measurable, and practical health and learning outcomes. The Health Promotion Specialist supports the CPW department’s goals and objectives through a variety of tasks while maintaining a commitment to the mission, vision and core themes of SKC.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline (i.e., health education, public health, community health, social services, behavioral sciences) or another closely related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in health education, health promotion, and/or prevention of health conditions.
  • Experience in a higher education setting and/or public health education role targeting diverse populations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in curriculum design, implementation, and oversight.
  • Cultural awareness, knowledge, and experience working with tribal populations.
  • Travel is required, both local and regional travel and as needed to grantee meetings, or for training/professional development opportunities, and coalition building.

The Instruction and Outreach Services Librarian serves as liaison with a variety of campus academic departments, provides information literacy instruction, reference services, and other duties as assigned.

General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Bookstore Team Leader, the Sales Clerk ensures the
Bookstore operates in a manner that provides a quality experience for its customers.
The Clerk serves as cashier while providing outstanding customer service. Duties
include assisting customers in person, with the virtual bookstore and over the
telephone with respect, courtesy and accuracy in a timely manner. The Clerk will
prepare and serve hot and cold beverages while paying attention to details. Maintain
stock of coffee counter supplies. Assist customers with package returns and
shipments. Completes daily logs for receiving UPS and FedEx shipments. The Sales
clerk utilizes the computerized cash register completing various sales and credit card
transactions, and balancing the register at the end of shift. The Sales Clerk assists
with inventory management, which includes preparing purchases, receiving, pricing,
filing, and organizing merchandise and replenishing shelves. Light cleaning and
rearranging of merchandise and displays.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform cash register transactions while maintaining daily cash
  • Make and serve beverages such as espresso, tea and specialty beverages.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and tools.
  • Receive and stock goods, replenish shelves and supplies.
  • Controlling of all receiving and outgoing packages
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise and online ordering of textbooks
  • Report any discrepancies and defective merchandise
  • Perform problem-solving for customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and experience in a retail environment, including cashiering and working with the public.
  • Must have computer experience, excellent oral communication skills and the ability to work independently, self-directed, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to multi-task and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Willing and able to enthusiastically interact with others face to face, by telephone and through other communication methods using active listening skills.
  • Must be able to resolve problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
  • Must be detail-oriented, motivated, reliable and able to work with diverse members of the community.

Adjunct Nursing Faculty

The Nursing Department is actively seeking adjunct nursing faculty who are excited about teaching and student learning. Adjunct nursing faculty will hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from both an accredited nursing program and college.  If a BSN prepared nurse is currently enrolled in a master's program, they will be considered as a qualified applicant.
